Spring is in the air at Krause, and we are starting to read about chicks hatching. We are creating and making chicks in the maker center. Also, we have a March Madness Tournament of Books going on in the library. The students are voting every week to find the best book at Alton Elementary School.
On the left, our doors to the first and second grade hallway, and on the right our March Madness (competition of books) in the third and fourth grade hallway.
For Dr. Seuss's birthday- Read Across America Day, students at Krause Elementary School got to participate in lots of fun Dr. Seuss activities during their specials time. First, the students watched a video by Thing 1 & Thing 2 on the importance of reading. Then, the students broke into three groups. One group went to the craft center where they made Dr. Seuss pinwheels and/or colored the Cat in the Hat. Another group went outside to do Dr. Seuss hat relay races (they had to run with the Dr. Seuss hat on). The other group stayed inside and listened to parents read a Dr. Seuss story. Each group got to participate in the three activities. Check out our pictures below.
